DENVER - Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has been fully cleared following his annual physical, according to Mike Klis with the Denver Post.
"No neck issue," Klis tweeted Monday. "He's officially ready for 2014."
Manning passed the required exit physical given to all of the team’s players in the days after the Super Bowl loss to the Seattle Seahawks as the players adjourned for the offseason.
Monday’s exam was part of Manning's contract.
The Broncos expected to hear that Manning was ready to go for the 2014 season and that's the news they got.
Manning said throughout Super Bowl week that his intention was to play in the 2014 season. Team officials routinely said the scheduled exam was the last formality remaining.
Manning has had four neck surgeries, including a spinal fusion that kept him out of the 2011 season, but has had no significant or unexpected issues with his neck as a result of playing this past season.
