Denver Broncos add new running back to active roster, former Charger Jacob Hester

DENVER - The Denver Broncos have signed a new running back.

Jacob Hester was added to the squad on Monday, according to DenverBroncos.com.

Hester is a fifth-year pro who played four seasons with the San Diego Chargers. In his career, Hester has rushed for 319 yards on 94 carries (3.4 avg.) with one touchdown in 62 career games (23 starts), according to the Broncos.

Hester has caught 55 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns in his career. He's also made an impact on special teams, having posted 36 tackles and scored two special-teams touchdowns, the Broncos said.

The Broncos now have six running backs -- Hester, Lance Ball, Chris Gronkowski, Ronnie Hillman and Knowshon Moreno are on the active roster. Jeremiah Johnson is on the practice squad.
