Champ Bailey is out for the Giants game, while Wesley Woodyard is listed as probable.

DENVER - Champ Bailey will miss his second straight game because of a lingering left foot sprain that has sidelined him since Aug. 17.

Coach John Fox ruled Bailey out of the Denver Broncos' game against the New York Giants after Bailey missed another practice Friday.

Bailey had expressed optimism about playing in the opener last week but he and the Broncos decided not to push it, hoping an extra 10 days would allow him to be healthy for Week 2.

Instead, he'll miss consecutive games for only the fourth time in his 15-year NFL career.

Fox said Bailey didn't have a setback this week but was "on schedule. He's making great progress. He's being watched over by our medical staff and he's getting closer."

Starting middle linebacker Wesley Woodyard is listed as probable for the Giants game with an ankle injury.
