Cake Boss Buddy Valastro says the Super Bowl is good for business; will root for Peyton Manning

HOBOKEN, NJ - Chocolate helmets and fondant turf are not the usual stuff of football, but a famous New Jersey business made them anyway.

Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey is the home of the TLC show, "Cake Boss" starring Buddy Valastro.

"The Super Bowl being in New York is like great. It's great for business, it's great for visibility. It's great to have so many parties and great events going on. And you know what? At events they need cakes, so I'm in the cake business and it works out great for everyone," Valastro joked during a short visit from 7NEWS.

As the Cake Boss showed 7NEWS Sports Anchors Lionel Bienvenu and Arran Andersen through his kitchen, he opened up about his predictions for the game.

"It's going to be a really intense Super Bowl," the famously boisterous baker said. "Some years, it's like a blow out, you know? I'm thinkin' it's going to come down to tooth and nail."

But who will Valastro be rooting for, Bienvenu asked?

"I'm a little bitter, my Giants aren't in the Super Bowl," the Cake Boss said.

"Well look, you've got a Manning in the Super Bowl," Bienvenu countered, referring to Peyton's brother who plays quarterback for the Giants.

"I am going for Denver, I'm going for the Broncos," he said. "I want to see Peyton win it. How could you not like Peyton Manning?"

There are special cakes being made for Super Bowl events, but will there be a special cake for the Broncos or Manning himself?

"Maybe I should call Eli and tell him we're going to make something on the sneak so if Peyton wins, we'll present him with a cake," Valastro said.

Valastro also confided in Bienvenu and Andersen about a surprise to be announced Sunday after the Super Bowl ends. Keep an eye out on @ArranAndersen's twitter page for that announcement.
