DENVER - Terrance Knighton of the Denver Broncos has given jersey number 94 to his new teammate DeMarcus Ware and picked a new number for himself.
Ware, a seven-time pro bowler who signed with the Broncos as a free agent, has worn No. 94 his whole career. When Ware was asked if he would try to get the number from Knighton, he joked that he might try to buy it with a pot roast -- referencing Knighton's nickname, "Pot Roast."
Knighton eventually agreed to give him the number and the team announced Tuesday afternoon that he selected No. 98 to wear next season.
Formerly a member of the Dallas Cowboys, reports indicate that Ware agreed to a 3-year, $30 million contract to play in Denver.
