CENTENNIAL, Colo. -- The Broncos' struggles stopping the run are well-known, and it won't get any easier Sunday against New England.
As first reported by Denver7, Broncos inside linebacker Brandon Marshall will miss his second-straight game with a left hamstring injury. Marshall has battled the issue for six weeks, and when it resurfaced against Jacksonville he admitted it required more time to heal.
"It definitely feels better," said Marshall, hopeful he will be ready for the Chiefs game on Christmas day. "It's making progress."
Todd Davis (left oblique) practiced Friday for this first time this week and remains hopeful of playing. Regardless, Corey Nelson and Zaire Anderson, who collected five tackles in 27 snaps last Sunday, will receive plenty of reps. Anderson was strong against the Titans running attack, but faces a challenge in pass coverage. Having Davis and Nelson could help in this regard.
"It feels really good," David told Denver7. "Really good."
To add depth on defense, the Broncos activated practice squad outside linebacker Vontarrius Dora from the practice squad on Friday and placed long snapper Casey Kreiter on injured reserve. Dora pushed to make the team in training camp as he learned how to play upright as a pass rusher. The Broncos also signed former Patriots linebacker Kevin Snyder to the practice squad on Thursday. He was in the locker room on Friday, assigned No. 46.
