Broncos Coach Fox updates players via Skype on his progress after heart surgery in Charlotte, N.C.

Fox walked 2 miles Monday

Denver Broncos head coach John Fox lifted spirits at Monday's team meeting via a Skype video conference from North Carolina, where he continues to progress after heart surgery two weeks ago.

Fox banged on his chest, telling players he had walked 2 miles Monday when the team asked how he was doing during his recuperation, interim coach Jack Del Rio told reporters during a Monday afternoon news conference.

The Broncos' tweeted a photo of Fox laughing on a giant video screen while he talked with players and coaches sitting in an auditorium at the Broncos' Dove Valley practice facility. Del Rio said the team talked with Fox for about 10 minutes.

The exchange with Fox brightened everybody's spirits, Del Rio said.

The Denver Post's Mike Klis tweeted that Fox watched the Broncos' Sunday night victory over the Kansas City Chiefs from his Charlotte, N.C., home with the team's advanced scout, Champ Kelly.

Fans cheered news of Fox's improving health on the Broncos' Twitter feed.

"That is awesome!" one fan tweeted.

"So what does the fox say?! hugs coach fox!!!" another fan added.
