Broncos Receiver Tears Achilles Tendon

Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon on Wednesday while working out in Georgia. His recovery is expected to take 6-8 months.

“I have no doubt that Demaryius will overcome this setback,” Broncos Head Coach John Fox said. “He’s proven he can handle adversity and will get through this. We look forward to getting Demaryius back on the field as soon as possible.”

Thomas was a first round pick last year. Thomas grabbed 22 catches for 283 yards and two touchdowns last season as a rookie. He battled foot and ankle injuries all year.
