You are only three weeks away from the BolderBOULDER so now it’s time to start preparing for race day. Nervous about what to wear? Don’t be, we’ve got you covered.

Skechers Performance GOelite athlete Patrick Rizzo says you should avoid wearing new shoes. Unless you need new shoes don’t wear a new pair of shoes on race day. It won’t be fun. Plan in advance and if you need new shoes make sure you have a few weeks run in them before race day.

Also, make sure nothing else you wear is new, you never know how your skin will tolerate new materials and you don’t want to wait until race day to find out.

Wear layers if it’s chilly.  If you need to discard clothing along the route as you warm up, the BolderBoulder will donate it.  You can put stuff in a FedEx mobile locker at the starting line and it will meet you at the finish line.

Other things to bring:

  • If it’s especially hot or cold the morning of the race bring a cold water bottle or a few hand warmers it will help either cool or heat your core.
  • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses (*props)
  • You don’t need your iPod. We also have fun course entertainment and over 30 bands playing live on the course. Trust us; it’s a ton of fun!
  • If you want to bring music that motivates you- Just make sure it’s not so loud that you are aware of what is going on around you on the course

DO NOT bring backpacks. Because of security measure on the BolderBOULDERcourse no bag over 12x12x12 will be allowed. And it’s so much harder to run with a backpack!
