Denver celebrates Colorado Avalanche playoff run with Burgundy & Blue Week

DENVER - The Colorado Avalanche are on their way to the playoffs and to celebrate, Denver's mayor Michael Hancock has proclaimed this as "Burgundy and Blue Week."

Avs fans are being encouraged to wear burgundy and blue this week in advance of the team’s first round series against the Minnesota Wild.

The City and County of Denver is lighting the City and County Building with burgundy and blue lights through through the first round.

Airport visitors will hear an Avalanche message from Team Captain Gabriel Landeskog on the train and drivers to Denver International Airport will see the DIA sign on Peña Boulevard illuminated in burgundy.

The Downtown Denver Partnership is also lighting the D&F Tower in burgundy and blue lights and changing the lights along 14th Street to burgundy and blue.
