US AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colorado - The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club has announced it will hold its annual Burgundy-White Game on Sunday, Sept. 15, at Cadet Ice Arena on the grounds of the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. Puck drop is scheduled for 12 p.m.
The Burgundy-White Game features all Avalanche players competing in a three-period, intra-squad scrimmage. Fans in attendance will also have the opportunity to watch a shootout at the end of regulation, regardless of the score, the team said.
It will mark the fifth time that the Air Force Academy has hosted the event. Air Force welcomed the Burgundy/White Game for three straight years from 2007-09 and then again in 2011.
Tickets for the game go on sale Wednesday, July 24, through Air Force’s official website, www.GoAirForceFalcons.com or by calling 800-666-USAF (8723). Prices range from $15 for military personnel to $22 for the general public. For more information, please contact the Air Force Academy box office at 800-666-USAF (8723) or visit www.GoAirForceFalcons.com.
Proceeds from this year’s Burgundy-White game will be used by Kroenke Sports Charities to support non-profit groups, including military organizations.
