DENVER - More Colorado Avalanche players will be on the ice at the Sochi Olympics.
The Swedish Olympic team announced Tuesday that Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog will compete for his native country in the upcoming games.
Landeskog, 21, helped Sweden capture the gold medal at the 2013 IIHF World Championship held in Stockholm and Helsinki, according to the Avs.
Goaltender Semyon Varlamov was also named to the Russian team for the second time and center Matt Duchene will play on the Canadian team.
Last week, center Paul Stastny was invited to represent the United States at the Olympics for the second time.
The Sochi Olympics start Feb. 7.
