Dallas Mavericks (39-10) At Denver Nuggets (26-25), 8:30 P.M.

The Dallas Mavericks try to tie a franchise record tonight, as they go for their 14th win in a row against the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

The Mavericks are on their longest winning streak since capturing a franchise- best 14 straight to open the 2002-03 campaign. Dallas leads the San Antonio Spurs by one-half game in the Southwest Division.

All-Star Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points as Dallas crushed the Miami Heat, 112-76, at American Airlines Center. Jason Terry netted 16 points for Dallas, which got its league-leading 13th consecutive win. The Mavericks have held every opponent during the streak under 100 points.

Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse and Keith Van Horn each scored 14 points in the win over Miami for the Mavericks, while Erick Dampier grabbed 11 rebounds in the victory.

Nowitzki was named a reserve for the Western Conference All-Star team on Thursday. He will be making his fifth straight All-Star appearance.

Dallas is an impressive 19-6 as the visitor this season. The Mavericks have won six in a row on the road.

After tonight's game, Dallas returns home for a six-game stand. The Mavericks are scheduled to host New York, Washington, the Clippers, Memphis, Toronto and Philadelphia on the upcoming homestand.

The Nuggets try to halt a two-game losing streak, as they wrap up a brief two- game homestand. On Wednesday, Ben Gordon scored 30 points to lead the Chicago Bulls past Denver, 110-107, at the Pepsi Center.

Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points in the loss to the Bulls for Denver, which has lost six of its last seven games overall. Andre Miller scored 22 points, while Earl Watson netted 14 and Eduardo Najera contributed 13 points in defeat.

On the injury front for the Nuggets, forward Kenyon Martin (knee) is questionable. The 6-9 Martin, who has missed 13 games this season, did not play against Chicago. He is averaging 13.4 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Denver, which will visit the Seattle SuperSonics on Sunday at KeyArena, is 16-10 as the host this season. The Nuggets have lost two of their last three at the Pepsi Center.

This is the third meeting of the season between the clubs. In the two previous contests, Dallas defeated the Nuggets on November 15th at American Airlines Center and on January 6th at the Pepsi Center.

Dallas has won four straight after losing the last two meetings in this series. The Mavericks have won two straight and three of its last four at Denver.

The Nuggets are scheduled to host the Mavericks on April 2nd in the fourth and final meeting of the campaign between the squads.
