DENVER -- The last time Jake Plummer was cover boy of Sports Illustrated was October 2003. Jake was leading the 4-0 Denver Broncos against the Kansas Chiefs. They said he was a "Man on the Run."

Then the Broncos lost that next game to Kansas 24-23. Well, get ready to run for cover again because the latest Sports Illustrated to be released this week has Plummer on the cover again.

It says "stepping up under pressure, Jake Plummer leads the confident Broncos against Pittsburgh."

We're hoping the straggly beard will change the dreaded SI curse. Whether it's a game superstition or because he has no time to shave, Plummer has been growing that infamous beard all season.
