NCAA Game Summary - Montana At Denver

Denver, CO -- (Sports Network) - Nate Rohnert scored 20 points, pulled down five rebounds, and dealt out six assists as the Denver Pioneers stopped the Montana Grizzlies 56-49 in a non-conference game at Magness Arena. Chase Hallam added 14 points for Denver (2-1), while Andrew Hooper contributed 12 points off the bench in the win. Anthony Johnson scored 23 points for the Grizzlies (3-1) who were seeing their first road action of the season. Brian Qvale provided 12 points and 12 rebounds in the setback.
Montana led briefly in the early going, but after taking a 7-6 lead at the 16:59 mark of the first half Denver never trailed again. The Pioneers extended their lead to 36-18 at the 2:11 mark of the half and led by 14 at intermission. Montana went on a 15-5 run to get within three at 48-45 with 4:05 left, but managed just two field goals the rest of the way. Denver made 6-of-14 attempts from behind the arc in the contest, while Montana missed all eight of its three-point shots.
