Report: Brock Lesnar Undergoes Surgery

Dana White Tells TMZ Lesnar Might Never Fight Again

UPDATED: 1:07 pm MST November 17, 2009

Ultimate Fighting Championship heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar reportedly underwent surgery Tuesday to try to repair a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract.

“Leaving Bismarck, ND right now. Brock had minor surgery and is feeling better. Not 100% sure he is out of the woods but feeling better,” UFC president Dana White posted on his Twitter account Tuesday.

Lesnar has been hospitalized in North Dakota while battling the illness. The former WWE performer reportedly collapsed in Canada about a week ago. Lesnar -- who last month canceled his scheduled Nov. 21 heavyweight bout against Shane Carwin -- was initially diagnosed with mono. But during a post-fight news conference after UFC 105 last weekend, White told the media that Lesnar was very ill and that he was battling more than mono.

Monday, White told TMZ, “There’s a possibility Lesnar will never fight again.”

According to the AP, White said he is encouraging Lesnar to check into the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for more treatment.
