Broncos Cut 4 Players, Knowshon Back At Practice

Latest Update From Dove Valley, Tom Brandstater Running 1st Team QB

POSTED: 2:31 pm MDT September 1, 2009

The Broncos released four players Tuesday and formally moved wide receiver Brandon Marshall to reserve/suspended to get their roster down to 75 players.

Tight end Jeb Putzier, punter Britton Colquitt, wide receiver C.J. Jones and center Blake Schlueter were let go. Schlueter, a seventh-round draft pick this past April, is a candidate for the team's practice squad.

The Broncos can name an eight-man practice squad next week.

Marshall is suspended until Sept. 6.

Also Knowshon Moreno was back at practice today wearing a red jersey, showing a player returning from injury. The Broncos running back hasn't practice since injuring a hamstring August 14th in the first preseason game against San Francisco. Rookie Tom Brandstater was running first team QB with Kyle Orton and Chris Simms injured.
