Cook Leaves Game With Shoulder Injury

POSTED: 12:22 am MDT August 22, 2009

(Sports Network) - Colorado Rockies pitcher Aaron Cook left Friday's 6-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants with a sore right shoulder.

Cook, who has been bothered by a sprained big toe on his right foot, left the game in the top of the fourth inning after he walked Nate Schierholtz. Josh Fogg replaced Cook on the hill and gave up a three-run homer to Aaron Rowand later in the frame.

Fogg gave up two runs -- one earned -- on four hits with one strikeout in three innings of relief.

Aaron Cook (10-6) allowed four runs on three hits with two walks in three-plus innings to take the loss. Cook is 0-3 in his last four trips to the mound.
