DENVER -- Police confirm that Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall has had another run-in with the law.Marshall was pulled over June 12 on northbound Interstate 25 between Broadway and Santa Fe. He was cited for allegedly disobeying his lane assignment, driving without a license, and driving without proof of insurance, Denver police confirmed Wednesday. The police report listed the time as 5:25 a.m., but it's not known if this was when Marshall was pulled over or when the report was written.
The citations were first reported Tuesday on CompleteColorado.comIf convicted of those charges, Marshall would receive 10 points on his driver's license. According to Colorado law, an adult driver can have his license suspended if he accumulates 12 points within 12 months. Marshall is also facing 12 license points for DUI charges stemming from an arrest by Denver police last October. He pleaded not guilty to those charges in December. According to court documents, Marshall was also charged with driving the wrong way on a one-way street and failing to drive in a single lane in that incident. On March 27, the athlete told a group of reporters, "My goal for the summer is to be clean-cut and don't get into trouble." He said that he realizes he has to grow up.Marshall's DUI trial in Denver court had been scheduled for June 18, but was continued, the site reported. It is not known if these latest driving charges factored into the continuation of the DUI trial. The Bronco's up-and-coming wideout is still in jeopardy of being suspended by the NFL for multiple allegations of domestic violence, CompleteColorado reported. He had a spat with his girlfriend last year that landed him in court.Marshall also cut an artery, a vein, a nerve, two tendons and three muscles in his right arm in an accident earlier this year while horsing around with family members. The Broncos had feared he would miss the start of training camp in July, but he showed up at quarterback camp in March. It was because of all the drama and headlines surrounding Marshall that forced quarterback Jay Cutler to lash out in March."He's not my favorite person right now. I mean, I support him, but it's always something with him right now," Cutler said. "I've talked to him many times. I think a lot of people have. ... He knows he's running out of chances. But like I told him, I said, 'Brandon, they're going to quit giving you chances and you're going to have to go somewhere else. And that's going to be a shame.'"As with the previous DUI charge, Marshall is represented by attorney Harvey Steinberg. Steinberg also represents known gang member Brian Hicks. Although Hicks was in jail Jan. 1, 2007, a sport utility vehicle registered in his name is believed to have been the vehicle used in the drive-by shooting of Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.Marshall was partying with Williams the night the Williams was killed. Former teammate Javon Walker said Marshall sprayed champagne on some bar patrons, sparking a confrontation that preceded the shooting, which remains unsolved.Marshall, a fourth-round draft choice in 2006 out of Central Florida, blossomed into the Broncos' best receiver last year.
