A construction worker may have buried more Red Sox items in the new Yankee Stadium. On MSNBC's "Countdown With Keith Olbermann," Olbermann reported Monday night that Gino Castignoli, who buried a David Ortiz jersey in the concrete foundation of the new stadium, might have also buried another item.Castignoli allegedly told friends that while working on the construction of the new stadium last summer, he also buried an official scorecard from the 2004 American League Championship Series matchup between the Yankees and the Red Sox. Boston won that series 4-3 after losing the first three games. According to Olbermann, Castignoli didn’t reveal where in the stadium he put the scorecard.
Castignoli, a Boston fan, allegedly buried the items in hopes of jinxing the Yankees. The Yankees took Castignoli's threat seriously, and last month had a crew jackhammer through the concrete in the new stadium to remove the Ortiz jersey. The Red Sox jersey was then auctioned off for charity.
