HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. -- Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall was arrested by Douglas County Sheriff's Office Monday night, accused of domestic violence and false imprisonment.Deputies were called at 10:22 p.m. to the Palomino Park Apartments in the 8500 block of Gold Peak Lane in Highlands Ranch, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said. The female caller said her boyfriend was refusing to let her leave in a taxi and was blocking the taxi in with his vehicle. The couple had been fighting all day, she said.
Deputies arrived and Marshall was issued a citation and taken to the jail. He appeared in court Tuesday morning for his advisement and was released Tuesday afternoon on $2,500 bond.Marshall was penciled in to be the second receiver next season, starting alongside Javon Walker. He had 20 catches for 309 yards and two touchdowns as a rookie last season. Broncos are very high on him, 7SPORTS Anchor Lionel Bienvenu said. But his arrest won't sit very well with head coach Mike Shanahan, considering that it was on Monday, at the NFL owners' meetings, that Commissioner Roger Goodell said a much more strict disciplinary policy will be going into effect for players in trouble off the field.Marshall was also at the New Year's Eve party that Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams attended just before he was shot to death.
