DENVER -- An auction on eBay is raising money for the children of slain Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams.Williams had planned on attending the 2007 Super Bowl before he was shot and killed early New Year's morning.In memory of Williams and to help raise money for the fund set up by the Denver Broncos, Momentum Sports Group out of San Antonio, Texas decided to auction his tickets and hotel stay on eBay.
All proceeds from the auction will go to the fund established by the Denver Broncos to help Williams' two children."We are auctioning off D-Wills' Super Bowl tickets and hotel stay. These are the actual tickets and hotel reservations for Darrent Williams. We wanted to do something special with these tickets and it's for a great cause," said Troy Asmus, spokesman for Momentum Sports Group.The package for sale includes two Super Bowl tickets and a five-night stay at Fontainebleau Resort in Miami Beach from Jan. 31 to Feb. 5."Darrent touched many lives in his short time on earth and aspired to make a difference in the community. This pair of Super Bowl tickets were provided by the Denver Broncos with permission from the NFL and NFLPA. These seats are where Darrent would have watched the game and the hotel suite is where he would have stayed," the auction said.The eBay auction runs until Jan. 29 at 6:41 p.m.Anyone interested in bidding can click here.
