Official Rules and Regulations

  1. No Purchase Necessary: No purchase or payment of any money is necessary to enter. Purchase will not improve the chances of winning. All federal, state and/or local rules and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law.
  2. Eligibility: Must be at least 18 years old to enter and a resident of Colorado. Employees of KMGH-TV, The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. ("The McGraw-Hill Companies"), Internet Broadcast Systems, Inc. ("IBS") and Subway, and All Recycling are not eligible (collectively, the "Sponsors").
  3. To Enter: To enter go to www.TheDenverChannel.com and type in the appropriate information requested in the Education section. Only one entry per day will be accepted per contestant. Sponsors are not responsible for late, misdirected or illegible entries.
  4. Prize (s): Free lunch provided by Subway for the elementary school that collects largest amount of cans. One winner will be selected 2/20/2009. All Recycling will donate proceeds from recycled cans to the associated school. The value of the prize depends on the number of students in the winning school.
  5. Prize Conditions: Prizes are supplied by Subway and All Recycling. Prizes are not redeemable for cash or substitutable for any other item by winner. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value for any prize, for any reason. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes and fees, plus any other incidentals. Winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release form prior to receipt of a prize acknowledging that The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. has the right to publicize his/her name and likeness, the fact that he/she has won the a certain prize and all matters incidental thereto without the payment of any compensation for a period of one (1) year. The winner will be required to waive any and all claims against The McGraw-Hill Companies, All Recycling, Subway, IBS, their respective affiliates, employees, agents, and representatives for any loss which may occur from participation in the contest or from the receipt or use of the prize. Non-compliance will result in disqualification and forfeit of prize.
  6. How to Win: Contestants will be chosen by random from applicants on 10/15, 11/19, 1/12 at Denver's 7. Once schools are chosen, the contest to collect aluminum cans will begin. Contestants will be notified by e-mail and phone call. Each school will collect cans for a month period of time. Winner will be notified after the contest is complete and All Recycling communicates to KMGH which school had collected the most cans over the contest period. Winner must provide Denver's 7 with appropriate identification (Colo. Driver's License or ID) and prize will be awarded on 2/20/2009. Chosen elementary schools will collect cans for one month time period. Time periods are as followed and will be assigned on the dates above to the corresponding elementary school. The First school will collect cans from 10/20/2008-11/16/2008, the second school will collect cans from11/24/2008-12/21/2008, and the third school will collect cans from 1/12/2009-2/15/2009. The winner will be notified on 2/20/2009
  7. Odds: Odds of winning will depend upon number of eligible entries received.
  8. Winner's List: for a winner's list, send a self addressed, stamped envelope, after 2/20 to "Winners List" Denver's 7 Schools Can, 123 Speer Blvd., Denver, CO 80203.
  9. Contest Conditions: The contestants and winners release the owners and employees of Denver's 7, The McGraw-Hill Companies and IBS, All Recycling, Subway, their respective affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and all others associated with the development and execution of this contest, including their respective employees, agents and representatives from and against any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising from the contest and the awarding and use of the prizes, including liability for personal injury and/or property damage.
  10. Disqualification: In the event that a winner fails to claim his or her prize within 30 days or fails to meet the eligibility requirements of the contest, the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner selected at random from remaining entries.
  11. Miscellaneous: All entries become the sole property of The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. and none will be returned. Winner will be required to give The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc. his/her social security number, legal name, age, current address, and phone number for tax record keeping purposes only.
  12. Privacy: KMGH-TV on occasion shares information collected about contestants included on the entry forms with other units within the family of The McGraw-Hill Companies whose products or service we feel may be of interest to you.   13. Disputes: By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these official rules and the decisions of the judges. Any dispute regarding the sweepstakes or these rules will be resolved by a panel of judges from The McGraw-Hills Companies, Inc. and their decision shall be final.
