The Khani Sisters
Summary: Two sisters who are passionate about music form a powerful musical duo.
Bio: Chanel and Chanté have both had the opportunity to have private music lessons for many years. In 2004 they dubbed themselves "The Khani Sisters" and started marketing themselves to get jobs at weddings, farmers' markets, assisted living centers, and community events. As they have grown in aptitude on their respective instruments, the violin and the cello, they have come to believe that music is a universal language. In April of 2006 they had an opportunity to perform in the Philharmonic Concert Hall in Novgorod, Russia, and said that even though they spoke a different language than the audience, "for the ten minutes we performed, we felt a sense of unity with every person in the audience." The girls are uncertain of where their futures will take them but both would love keep the duo going and are looking to expand their repertoire as well as make a CD recording and, one day, play a benefit concert for people in need.
