Many Airlines Offer Last-Minute Deals Via E-mail, Web
To steal a line from Southwest Airlines, wanna get away?Booking a last minute airfare for a family emergency, a vacation or business trip can cost you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars.But most of the airlines have a last minute travel group where they E-mail you specials on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday for flights that coming weekend. Most of the deals require you to leave on Saturday and return Monday or Tuesday. United will let you leave anytime after 7 p.m. Friday night. Frontier also lets you leave on Friday.
What kind of deals are available? Here are the deals for the weekend of May 1st to use an example:
Delta:
Denver to Salt Lake City, $59 each way
American:
Colorado Springs to Boston, $134 each way
Colorado Springs to Dallas, $120 each way
Colorado Springs to Nashville, $103 each way
United:
Denver to Boston, $149 each way
Denver to Cody/Yellowstone, WY, $93 each way
Denver to Los Angeles, $79 each way
Denver to Phoenix, $69 each way
Denver to San Jose, $79 each way
Denver to Salt Lake, $44 each way
Frontier Airlines:
Denver to Chicago, $89 each way
Denver to Minneapolis, $99 each way

It's one way to surprise an out-of-town mother next week for Mother's Day, fly out and take her to breakfast!So how do you sign up?United Airlines posts its E-fares at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday morning on its Web site under "Specials." United posts deals for this weekend, next weekend and international deals.American Airlines will E-mail you each week with its deals. Just visit American Airlines E-mail signup page and look for NetSaaver.Delta Airlines has several E-mail programs, when you sign up look for fare sales and last minute deals. I think you have to be a SkyMiles member or join SkyMiles to get the E-mail deals.Southwest Airlines offers "Click & Save" E-mails, but it's not just last minutes fares for the coming weekend, it's travel specials including air fares, car rentals and hotel offers. I haven't signed up for this so I don't know how it works.Frontier Airlines also has weekend web fares, but I didn't see a place to sign up for an E-mail.
