Mike's Reporter's Notebook: Cancer Free = Worry Free?

DENVER -- I'm cancer free!

There, I said it out loud. Nothing more to worry about, right?

Right?

Let's come back to that one.

In the meantime, let me tell you that I've been blessed by great docs at University Hospital, incredible support from family, friends and perfect strangers, and I have reaped the benefit of a whole lot of prayers on my behalf. I'm so grateful and thankful.

My most recent biopsy (5/9/08) shows no cancer in my prostate.

So am I "out of the woods" ? Did I "dodge a bullet"? Do I have "clear sailing from here on"?

Who knows?

The Good Book says worry doesn't come from our "original manufacturer." That's not the most productive way to live.

Okay, then. I'll be thankful for my blessings and for each day I have in this life.

Easier said than done, but a worthy goal... don't you think?
