Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said the reports were not confined to one part of the city. However, there have been no reports of injuries.

Gunshots and fireworks erupt in the street in Denver during the Fourth of July and on New Year's Day. On Jan. 1, a single bullet fired from a high-powered rifle killed an 11-year-old girl and a woman sitting inside their home during a New Year's Eve party.

Firing a gun within city limits is illegal.
