Democratic Party officials say there could be a long wait to get into Barack Obama's acceptance speech on Thursday night because everyone will have to walk through a metal detector or be screened by a hand-held detector.

About 75,000 people are expected to hear Obama's speech at Invesco Field at Mile High, the Denver Broncos' football stadium.

Gates open at 1 p.m. but the starting time for the night's program has not been announced.

Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas is set to perform. There are reports that he will recreate the "Yes We Can" video that became an Internet sensation. Actress and "American Idol" alum Jennifer Hudson will sing the Star Spangled Banner.
