The University of Colorado said the Barack Obama campaign has asked about renting the school's football stadium for a rally during the week of the Democratic convention.

The stadium, which seats nearly 54,000, is on the university's Boulder campus about 25 miles from the convention site in Denver.

University spokesman Bronson Hilliard said no deal has been reached and the details are still being worked out. The Obama campaign didn't immediately respond to an e-mail seeking comment.

Hilliard said the base rent would be about $50,000 but other costs, like security and set-up, could raise that to $200,000.

The convention is Aug. 25-28.

During his town hall meeting in Thornton on Wednesday, Obama concluded his talk with the promise, "See you all in August!"
