Mike Rathje scored the game-winning goal in overtime for the Flyers, who coughed up a four-goal advantage but salvaged a 6-5 win over the Penguins at the Wachovia Center. Simon Gagne had two goals and two assists and linemate Peter Forsberg finished with four assists for the Flyers, who unloaded 41 shots to improve to 2-2 on the young season. John LeClair scored against his former team for his first goal as a member of the Penguins, who remain winless this season (0-1-4). Young phenom Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist for Pittsburgh, which overcame a 5-1 deficit to force overtime for the fourth straight game this year.

Jeff O'Neill recorded a hat trick and added an assist, and Darcy Tucker had a goal and three assists, as the Toronto Maple Leafs blasted the Atlanta Thrashers, 9-1, at Philips Arena. The Maple Leafs scored seven times on the power play, including five of them in the third period. They had 16 power play opportunities. Bryan McCabe had four assists and Ed Belfour stopped 19 shots for the Maple Leafs, who recorded their second straight win after three consecutive defeats, two of which were in shootouts. Marc Savard had the lone goal for the Thrashers, while Michael Garnett allowed all nine goals on 34 shots.

St. Paul, MN (Sports Network) - Richard Park notched the game-winning goal early in the third period and Todd Bertuzzi added an empty-net tally, as the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Minnesota Wild, 5-3, in the second of back-to- back games against Minnesota at the Xcel Energy Center. Park finished with a goal and two assists. Bertuzzi, Anson Carter, Markus Naslund and Ryan Kesler each had goals and Dan Cloutier had 10 saves for the Canucks, who won for just the second time in their last seven visits to Minnesota. Wes Walz, Pierre-Marc Bouchard and Brian Rolston each scored and Dwayne Roloson stopped 36 of the 40 shots he faced for the Wild, who lost at home for the first time since March 28, 2004. The Wild beat Vancouver 6-0 on Wednesday.

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Tuomo Ruutu notched the game-winning shootout goal as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Colorado Avalanche, 3-2, at the Pepsi Center. Ruutu, Tyler Arnason and Pavel Vorobiev all scored in the shootout for Chicago, while Alex Tanguay scored for Colorado. On the second shot for the Avs, Marek Svatos tried to beat Nikolai Khabibulin high, but missed net completely. Jaroslav Spacek and Kyle Calder scored goals and Khabibulin had 27 saves for Chicago, which defeated Colorado for the first time since February 9, 2002 Joe Sakic and John-Michael Liles had regulation goals and Peter Budaj stopped 38-of-40 shots for the Avalanche. Sakic's goal was No. 544 in his career, tying him with Maurice Richard for 21st- place on the NHL's all-time goals scored list.

Edmonton, AB (Sports Network) - Steve Ott scored with 8:15 left in the third period to snap a tie game, as Dallas defeated Edmonton, 3-2, at Rexall Place. Bill Guerin contributed a goal and an assist while Jussi Jokinen also lit the lamp for the Stars, who have won three straight games and improved to 4-1-0 this season. Jason Smith and Marc-Andre Bergeron scored for the Oilers, who have dropped two straight since opening the year with three consecutive wins.

Final Score: Anaheim 4, Columbus 3

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Keith Carney scored the game-winning goal with 2:36 remaining to lead the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim over the Columbus Blue Jackets, 4-3, at the Pond. Joffrey Lupul had a pair of goals and an assist and Carney recorded an assist for the Ducks, who scored two third-period goals to end a two-game losing streak and pick up their second win of the season (2-1-1). Jan Hrdina scored twice for the Blue Jackets, who have dropped two in a row and fell for the fourth time in five outings this season.
