"Any good team when you have a lead 4-3 going into the third period on the road on back to back nights you've got to find a way those games," said Avalanche head coach Joe Sacco. "Those are the games you got to put away, and we didn't do that tonight. We need to shoot the puck more, we need to generate more offense." Potulny's redirection of Tom Gilbert's dish in the slot at 2:45 of the third period tied the game, 4-4, on an Edmonton man advantage, and O'Sullivan tallied inside of nine minutes to play to give the Oilers a one-goal cushion before Hemsky hit the empty net for the clincher with 43 seconds remaining. Cumiskey boosted the visitors to a 4-2 lead at 11:04, but the Avs couldn't capitalize on a 5-on-3 advantage several minutes later. Edmonton made it a one-goal contest with 16 seconds left in the period thanks to Gagner stashing home Lubomir Visnovsky's rebound. "Any time you can get a goal in the last minute it gives your team a boost, and we came out charging the next period," Gagner said. "We were just trying to continue to put some pressure on them and we were able to come back and get the win."Game Notes:The Oilers have won two of three meetings this season with Colorado...Edmonton forward Ethan Moreau left the game after the second period after taking a hard hit...The Oilers had previously scored six during regulation on October 12 at Nashville and October 22 against Columbus.
