NFL Game Summary - Atlanta At Baltimore

(Sports Network) - D.J. Shockley tallied 98 yards and a touchdown on 7-of-14 passing to lead the Atlanta Falcons past the Baltimore Ravens, 10-9, in the final preseason tune-up for both squads.

Jason Snelling garnered 88 yards on 15 carries and added two recpetions for 22 yards for the Falcons (2-2), who will host Detroit on September 7 to open their regular season. Brian Finneran accounted for the game's only TD on a 20- yard reception. Matt Ryan, who was named the starter for the season-opener, went 2-of-7 for 17 yards.

Joe Flacco started under center for the Ravens (1-3) and was 8-of-13 fr 72 yards. Casey Bramlet, who was signed by the Ravens prior to the setback, hit on 7-of-21 passes for 100 yards, but was picked off twice. Ray Rice tallied 37 yards on seven touches and added two recpetions for another six yards. Mark Clayton had four catches totaling 38 yards for Baltimore, which opens its season on Sept. 7 with a home date against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Matt Stover broke the scoreless tie as he nailed a 25-yard field goal with 12:48 left in the second quarter and followed with a 31-yarder with just over a minute left in the half.

Finneran, though, hauled in a 20-yard pass from Shockley to cap a five-play, 76-yard drive that lasted 44 ticks and gave the Falcons a 7-6 lead heading into the half.

Jason Elam and Stover traded field goals in the third stanza and Atalnta held on with a slim 10-9 advantage.

Ravens signal-calling candidates Troy Smith (viral infection) and Kyle Boller (shoulder injury) didn't play in the loss. Safety Ed Reed (shoulder) and running back Willis McGahee (knee) didn't see time either and cornerback Chris McAlister (knee) was on the sideline as well.
