Redskins Agree To Terms With TE Davis

POSTED: 9:45 am MDT July 19, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Washington Redskins have now signed all 10 of their draft picks after agreeing to terms on a contract with tight end Fred Davis.

Davis, who was taken by the team with the 48th overall selection, was the second of three Redskins' second-round picks in last April's NFL Draft.

The University of Southern California product won the 2007 John Mackey Award, given to the nation's best tight end, after he led USC with 62 receptions to go along with 881 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.

In his stay at USC, the 6-foot-3 Davis also set career records for the tight end position with 13 scores and 117 catches.

To make room for Davis, the Redskins released tight end Tyler Ecker, who spent his rookie season last year on injured reserve with a groin problem.
