The body of a man was pulled out of the Cherry Creek Wednesday afternoon.

A passerby called 911 when a body was noticed floating in the Cherry Creek near 5th and Grant.

"It appears to be a gentleman in his 50s," said Lt. Phil Champagne, public information officer for the Denver Fire Department.

The man was found floating face down when the fire department showed up and pulled him out. Champagne said the body appeared to have been in the water for some time.
