DENVER -- The cool and wet weather will be with us again for Thursday, with temperatures only in the 40s to low 50s. Scattered showers will continue on the plains, with some snow mixed in for the mountains and foothills. The deep upper level storm system that has been swirling over Colorado will hang around for another 24 hours. This will keep Denver and the eastern plains cool and damp again today. The storm system will finally exit Colorado tomorrow, with clearng skies and warmer weather coming into the region from the west. Highs will bounce back into the 60s on Friday. The coming weekend looks like it will be a nice one, with mostly sunny skies, drier conditions and temperatures warming to near average both Saturday and Sunday. We certainly had a wild and crazy summer, with plenty of big storms. In fact, people are still recovering from summer events, including the big storm that plowed through the city back oin July 20th. The Horizon House is a local care center for people with cancer and other terminal diseases. Every year, they make salsa from home grown green tomatoes and sell them to raise money for their organization. Unfortunately, that July storm took out most of the garden and they are in search of green tomatoes. So if you're out in your garden and you have some extra green tomatos to pass along, please contact Harry Lester at harrylester@q.com.
