Barricading himself in a closet didn't help a suspect on the run from police. Officers sent in a police dog that dragged the man out.

A Colorado Springs police report said a person was sitting in their apartment Sunday afternoon on Murray Boulevard, when a man came into throught the patio door.

Police said the suspect went into the bedroom closet and the victim ran out of the apartment and called authorities.

Officers said they ordered the man out of the closet, but they were ignored.

The police report said the man had barricaded himself in the closet by putting a ladder and other objects around him.

A K9 officer released his dog, Bode, into the closet. Bode dragged the suspect out to the waiting officers.

The suspect, Matthew Kirt, 20, was treated on scene for minor injuries and arrested on charges of second-degree burglary.
