Body Discovered Along 16th Street Mall

No Foul Play Suspected In Homeless Man's Death

Denver police investigated the discovery of a body along the 16th Street Mall Tuesday.

Police were called to investigate since the circumstances of the death were unclear. The body was discovered on a bench with a sleeping bag across the street from the Denver Pavilions, at 7:20 a.m.

He was found by workers hosing down the pedestrian walkway, according to witnesses.

Police said the body was that of homeless man and that foul play is not suspected in his death. He appeared to have died while sitting on the bench.

Shuttle bus service along the pedestrian mall was stopped for a time while police investigated.

The body was taken to the Denver Coroner's Office for an autopsy.
