Scooter Hit, Suspected Driver Arrested

Denver police have apprehended a suspected hit-and-run driver after a motorized scooter was struck in northwest Denver Wednesday morning.

Witnesses said a car struck a youth on a scooter at about 6:15 a.m. at 49th Avenue and Federal Boulevard. They told police which direction the driver fled.

About 15 minutes later, the suspected hit-and-run driver was apprehended at 56th Avenue and Broadway after a witnesses followed the vehicle and relayed a license plate number and the driver's location. Video from Airtracker7 showed police handcuffing a woman as she was removed from the car.

The scooter driver suffered a broken arm. The scooter appeared to have been demolished in the crash.
