Police Say Man May Have Cut Himself During Robbery

DENVER -- Lakewood police are looking for the man who broke into a pawn shop and tried to steal handguns.Police said the robber broke into the Cash American pawnshop on Wadsworth Boulevard on Aug 18.He used a ratchet wrench to break the glass in a display counter and steal three handguns, said Lakewood Police Spokesman Steve L. Davis.
The robber put the guns in a bag and ran away. A store employee chased the man down Colfax Avenue, Davis said.Eventually the man dropped the bag and outran the employee, he said.The robber is described as a white man between 25 and 35 years old. He was wearing a dark shirt, a dark hat, blue jeans and white tennis shoes.Detectives believe that the robber may have cut himself when he broke the glass in the display counter.Anyone with information is asked to call Lakewood police at 303-987-7239.
