Fort Carson Soldier Dies Of Wounds In Iraq

FORT CARSON, Colo. -- The Defense Department says a soldier from Fort Carson died in Iraq last week. The department announced Monday that Spc. Steven J. Fitzmorris died Thursday of wounds he suffered while on patrol. He was 26 and from Columbia, Mo.
Fitzmorris was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 29th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson.
