The Denver Dumb Friends League is pitching-in to help animals displaced by Hurricane Gustav.

Members of the Texas SPCA delivered 89 cats to the league's Quebec Street shelter Sunday night. The felines include kittens, young cats, and adults.

Some will be staying at the Dumb Friends location on Quebec Street, while others will be sent to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, and the Larimer Humane Society.

The cats will eventually be available for adoption.

The Dumb Friends League currently has more than 700 cats in its care.

The organization is hoping many of the displaced cats from Hurricane Gustav will be adopted so that there will be more room to help other animals affected by the storm.
