Police: Stabbing on trolley was over seat

SAN DIEGO - An apparent argument over a seat aboard a trolley Tuesday led to the stabbing of a woman and the arrest of another woman, San Diego police said.

The knife attack was reported at about 3:30 p.m. on a trolley at 25th and Commercial streets in the Logan Heights area, according to San Diego police.

Police said the suspected attacker was sitting with her feet across another seat and did not want anyone sitting near her. When the victim asked if she could sit down, the suspect refused, police said.

An argument ensued, and police said the suspect stabbed the other woman.

Patrol officers arrested the suspect at the scene, SDPD public affairs Lt. Kevin Mayer said. Her name was not immediately available.

Medics took the 53-year-old victim to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest for cuts to her left wrist and hip.
