ROUTT COUNTY, Colo. — Colorado’s largest wildfire of the 2016 season was intentionally set by a minor, authorities said.

Arson charges were filed Friday against an underage person in connection to the Beaver Creek Fire still smoldering near the Colorado-Wyoming border.

The minor’s name has not been released, and authorities have not said how they believe the minor sparked the fire.

The fire was first detected on June 19, northwest of Walden. It has burned over 38,000 acres and crews are hoping it will burn out over the winter.
