Waterton Canyon will be closed to the public for three days this week.
The parking lot and the canyon itself will be closed from Wednesday, June 5, through Friday, June 7, for annual maintenance work, according to Denver Water.
"We apologize for the inconvenience, but this annual work is necessary to reduce the amount of dust on the canyon road," said Neil Sperandeo, manager of recreation for Denver Water. "The end result will be an enhanced recreation experience for the hikers, bikers and runners who use the canyon."
Waterton Canyon will reopen at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 8.
Waterton Canyon is popular with hikers, walkers, cyclists and fishermen. On high-use days, more than 2,000 people visit Waterton Canyon, according to Denver Water.
