Gospel singer Jacqueline Simpson sued McDonald's for allegedly ruining voice from chicken sandwich

NEW YORK - A New York gospel singer has sued McDonald’s for allegedly ruining her voice after she bit into a piece of glass while eating a chicken sandwich from the fast food chain.

Jacqueline Simpson, 52, said she bit into the glass at a McDonald’s in lower Manhattan on May of 2010, according the New York Post.

“Now when I sing, I have a hoarse ratty voice,” Simpson said to newspaper. “I still sing alto, but I can’t sing soprano like I used to.”

Simpson, a clerk for the New York state Attorney General’s Office, claims that she has to remind people who hear her on the phone that she is not a man.

“I have to make a lot of calls for work, and I have to tell people that I’m not a man,” Simpson told the New York Post. “Before, that never happened.”

It is not known how much Simpson is suing the fast food chain for in damages.
