LAUREL, Md. - Field trips are supposed to be fun. But it turned into a nightmare for a mother who says her son was left behind by his day care.
According to a report by ABC affiliate WJLA, Corena West says her 3-year-old son Bryant was left behind for hours at a Chuck E. Cheese in Laurel, Md. on Wednesday.
West told WJLA that day care staff members forgot her son when they left at 2 p.m. Bryant says they didn't contact her until two hours later.
When she went to pick him up from the Early Childhood Learning Center in Washington, D.C., day care employees told her they had lost her son.
WJLA reports police went back to get the child. He was safe and unharmed.
Six staff members chaperoned 20 kids on the field trip.
