Tip may lead to body of Kentucky woman missing since 2010

Paige Johnson missing since Sept. 23, 2010

KENTON COUNTY, Ky. - Police in Northern Kentucky are looking for the body of Paige Johnson who has been missing since Sept. 23, 2010.

The then-17-year-old Florence, Ky., resident and single mother was reported to have been dropped off in Covington, Ky. by  Jacob Bumpass, an acquaintance. 

According to police however, Bumpass' cellphone records showed his phone was not in Covington at the time he said he dropped off Paige, and police said it had pinged off a tower in nearby Florence.

Police are acting on a tip that Johnson's body might have been dumped in an old cistern in the 3500 block of Decoursey Pike in Latonia, Ky..

Police dogs are searching the area and officers are waiting on special equipment to help them search inside the cistern.

According to recent crime statistics, 2,300 Americans are reported missing every day.  That includes adults and children.
