WASHINGTON - Britain's Prince Harry opened a U.S. visit devoted to the wounded victims of war at the side of one of America's most storied wounded warriors, Sen. John McCain, at an exhibition about land mines. Then he dropped in for tea at the White House.
With a shrieking gaggle of young women straining to see him behind rope lines, the prince quizzed officials of a charity that staged the display of land-mine photos, maps and mine-detection equipment at Congress.
Then he made a surprise visit to an afternoon tea where Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, Vice President Joe Biden's wife, honored military mothers and wives. On Friday, the prince visits Arlington National Cemetery and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center before flying to Colorado for the 2013 Warrior Games.
