METAIRIE, La. - UPDATE: Pedro Alberto Monterosso-Navas, 43, of Honduras, was arrested in a trailer park in Katy, Texas. The children were found unharmed and are now in the custody of Texas authorities.
Investigators learned of the suspect's' whereabouts after one of the kidnapped children called a female friend in Katy. The mother of the friend then called 911 and gave them information about Monterosso-Navas' location.
Authorities say a suburban New Orleans woman has been found bludgeoned to death in her bathtub and the man she lived with and his three children are missing.
Sheriff's spokesman John Fortunato in Louisiana's Jefferson Parish says deputies have a warrant seeking the arrest of 43-year-old Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas on a second-degree murder charge. He says Monterroso-Navas is from Honduras and may also use the name Wilson Rigoberto Mina.
The 25-year-old woman's name is being withheld until her family is notified.
State police issued a missing children alert for a 12-year-old girl and boys aged 2 and 4.
The sheriff's office says two other boys in the blended household alerted neighbors Sunday. Sheriff Newell Normand says deputies found the woman unconscious with head wounds and she died in her apartment.
