Million Bikers group circles Washington D.C. on 9/11 anniversary

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Motorcyclists from all over the United States descended on Washington, D.C. Wednesday to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and honor our armed forces.

The ride, which began in Fort Washington, was billed as "2 Million Bikers To DC" and circled the Beltway after the group failed to get a permit for an unimpeded parade through D.C.

In a letter to one of the ride's organizers obtained by ABC News affiliate WJLA TV, the National Park Service said that the ride would "unreasonably interfere with regular and rush-hour traffic."

Video posted on the group's Facebook page showed a steady flow of motorcycles on the Beltway.
